This term, join Voice 21 for a series of four expert-led webinars designed for teachers and leaders. Each session focuses on how a whole-school approach to oracy can support your core priorities, from improving engagement to strengthening inclusion and teacher retention. We move beyond the “why” and focus on the “how”, featuring first-hand insights from schools who have successfully embedded high-quality oracy education.

It is an exciting time for oracy in education. The "Fourth R" isn’t just coming - it’s here. The ability to speak, listen and communicate confidently are essential skills for learning and for life.
What We Will Cover:
Drawing on national policy and Voice 21’s sector insight, you’ll leave with:
📢 Strategic Clarity: A clear understanding of how and why oracy is being prioritised in current policy
🧠 Leadership Insight: Steps you can take to aligning oracy with your school’s existing priorities
Thursday 14th May, 4 - 4.45pm
The transition to secondary school is a challenging time for many students, but at Voice 21 we know a high-quality oracy education plays an instrumental role in supporting a positive transition.
What We Will Cover:
You’ll discover how Voice 21 Oracy Schools are using oracy to:
🎒 Ease the transition to secondary school by helping students articulate worries, expectations and experiences
🗣 Build confidence and belonging so students feel able to participate in new classrooms and social settings
📚 Support disciplinary vocabulary
development so students can access the language of the Key Stage 3 curriculum
Tuesday 19th May, 4 - 4.45pm
When implemented as a consistent pedagogy, oracy can improve behaviour for learning, increase engagement and strengthen relationships between students, teachers and wider community.
What We Will Cover:
You’ll hear how Voice 21 Oracy Centres of Excellences are using oracy to:🗣️ Create engaged classrooms through clear routines and expectations for talk
👩🏫 Strengthen teachers’ confidence in leading discussion and managing behaviour
😃 Make teaching feel rewarding and exciting, encouraging colleagues to develop in their school
Tuesday 2nd June, 4 - 4.45pm
A whole-school approach to oracy supports inclusive practice. When classroom talk and communication is carefully designed and scaffolded, it enables more students to participate, deepen understanding, and express their ideas with confidence.
What We Will Cover:
We’ll look at practical, high-impact approaches used by Voice 21 Oracy Schools to embed inclusive practice across the school:
📈 Scaffolding communication for thinking and progress
⚖️ Routines that enable every voice to be heard
🙌 Making the most of available funding
