Student engagement and teacher retention: the role of oracy
Tuesday 19th May 2026, 4 - 4.45pm
Schools across the UK are facing increasing challenges around student engagement and teacher retention.
Through oracy, children are better able to regulate and communicate their feelings. When implemented as a consistent pedagogy, it can improve behaviour for learning, increase engagement and strengthen relationships between students, teachers and the wider community.
The role of oracy
When talk and communication are prioritised, classrooms become places where students actively think, discuss and are passionate about their learning, increasing meaningful participation. And in turn, colleagues feel more engaged, connected and inspired in their teaching.
In this webinar, we’ll explore how developing a consistent approach to oracy can transform classroom culture and improve the day-to-day experience for all in school.
